Wait a 2nd. Just exactly How did Cain find a spouse currently? Where did this woman result from?

One important things to bear in mind is the fact that within the book of Genesis, people lived a lot longer than they are doing now. In accordance with the Bible, “thus most of the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; in which he passed away” (Genesis 5:5).

Moreover, the verse prior mentions that “he had other sons and daughters” (Genesis 5:4). Based on the logic of this guide of Genesis, to be able to “be fruitful and multiply,” Adam and Eve had to conceive many kids. Otherwise the people would just disappear. In accordance with some traditions that are jewish “Adam had 33 sons and 23 daughters.”

The Bible doesn’t inform us whenever Cain found a spouse and whether he married a sister, or niece or even a grand-niece so it is unknown. None of these details should be based in the text. But just what follows through the narrative associated with the guide is the fact that then Cain must have married a relative if Adam and Eve were the first parents of all humanity. Continue reading…
